The Fallen Land of the Lords

AERA

Far beyond the eastern realms of Mundus lies Aera, a land so distant, inaccessible and shrouded in myth that many no longer believe it exists.

Once, it was the Immortal Land, the sacred dominion of the Lords, where divine beings walked among their chosen and the first Tree of Life sustained the balance of all creation.

But the first age is long gone.
In the wake of the War of the Lords, Second Era, Aera was broken and remade in ash.

Under the dominion of the Tyrant-God Tialevor, the once-lush lands were scorched by celestial fire, their forests reduced to lifeless husks, their soil transformed into wastes of endless ash and colossal spires.

Now known as the Scourgelands, Aera is a realm unfit for life. From the depths below, the Zeek rise in endless swarms, monstrous arthropods that thrive in this hostile world, feeding upon what little remains.

To the south lies the dominion of the Tyrant-God Tialevor, a vast and sacred city built around an immense crater. At its heart stands the Throne of Ash, a pyramidal fortress suspended in the air by ancient enchantments. At its summit rest the bones of Ghaomir. There, seated within the vast ribcage, Tialevor reigns unchallenged over the Scourgelands.

The lesser Ashen Alfar tend to the breeding of Zeek or labor over the crafting of exotic materials, sustaining the dominion of a Lord who has reduced a sacred land to a scar upon Mundus.

The feared Ashen Inquisitors, clad in plate armor forged from the hardened ashes of the Old Dragon, enforce his will and keep the lower castes in submission. No thought of rebellion is tolerated within the Tyrant-God’s ashen domain.
