Mist shrouds the island of Kanabo, far beyond the mythical lands of Aera and hidden from mortal eyes.
There dwell the Vanara, a secretive folk of simian warriors who live ascetic lives among forest temples raised in honor of the Elder Dragon Zhaolun.
Some whisper they came from lands beyond the edge of known seas.
When the mist thickens and war drums echo through the trees, the Vanara descend.
VANARA MONKS
Mist shrouds the island of Kanabo, far beyond the mythical lands of Aera and hidden from mortal eyes.
There dwell the Vanara, a secretive folk of simian warriors who live ascetic lives among forest temples raised in honor of the Elder Dragon Zhaolun. Some whisper they came from lands beyond the edge of known seas.
When the mist thickens and war drums echo through the trees, the Vanara descend.
SPIRITUAL DRAGON RIDERS
These ghostly dragons are echoes of a forgotten age, drifting like living mist between the realms of mortals and spirits.
They are said to be born from the dreams of Zhaolun, and only through the deep resonant chants of the Vanara can these spirits be called into form.
When they answer, they descend in silence, their coils winding through the mist like whirling smoke. Few have witnessed their passing and lived to tell of it.
GORAZEN - GUARDIAN OF THE DRAGON SHRINE
Among the Vanara stands Gorazen, towering and broad as an ancient oak, his strength matched only by his discipline.
He has sworn his life to the Dragon Shrine of Zhaolun, where the Elder Spirit slumbers beneath stone and incense.
Though a master of duel, his fury in battle is primal and overwhelming as he wields his massive kanabo carved from sacred wood.
To reach the shrine of the Elder Dragon, one must first survive a duel with Gorazen.
WUNAKAR - WARDEN OF THE EAST
Embodies the highest discipline of the Vanara monks, his body swift as wind and his mind still as deep water.
It is said he has faced the Oni warbands countless times and never yielded ground.
When invaders attempt to reach the misted shores of Kanabo, there he appears with his army of Vanara monks and his spiritual dragons.
Some claim he walks upon the wind itself, guided by unseen spirits.
VANI DRAGONCLAW
Swift and unyielding, Vani Dragonclaw is both warrior and devotee of the ancient spirits.
Rather than wielding quarterstaves or naginata, she favors the use of her free body as her only weapon; her strikes are precise, her movements fluid as coiling smoke.
In battle she invokes the name of Zhaolun, drawing strength from the unseen world.
ZHAOLUN - ELDER SPIRITUAL DRAGON
Beneath the mountains of Kanabo, the Elder Spiritual Dragon sleeps for years uncounted, his dreams rise as mist to shroud his island.
From those dreams take shape spirits of sky and stone, echoes of his ancient will.
Zhaolun, among the eldest dragons of Mundus, is a celestial serpent of immense wisdom who drifts between spirit and flesh as he wills.
Empires have risen and fallen beyond the seas while he remained in silent vigil.
He favors pacts over slaughter and tests the hearts of mortals through riddles older than memory.
When Zhaolun fully manifests, even the bravest warriors fall to their knees.
