DAUGHTERS OF SOL

The Daughters of Sol are a female chapter within the Requiem Order, dedicated to Sol the Holiest, the celestial herald of the Dragonlord Ghaomir.

From the fortress of Dosmagal, situated in the freezing mountains along the border between Rotvar and Skutagaard, they train as warriors and practitioners of sacramancy, protecting the mortal lands from demons, undead and the creatures of corruption.

Their duties extend beyond the battlefield. The chapter maintains sanctuaries and orphanages under Requiem protection, sheltering children left behind by wars and demonic incursions.

Raised within the Order’s discipline and teachings, many of these children will eventually enter its ranks. Clad in consecrated plate armor, the Daughters are trained to wield a wide variety of weapons, specializing in blunt weapons effective against skeletons and other fallen ones, and powerful sanctified arbalests for hunting demons.

Sacred incense accompanies their prayers and rituals, helping ward off curses and strengthen their resolve. Against creatures capable of tearing through steel, their survival depends as much upon sacramancy and their faith in Sol as upon their armor.

DAUGHTER PIETÁ - BLADE OF SOL

"“Mercy for those who suffer. My blade for those who cause it.”

Daughter Pietà is a champion of the Daughters of Sol, entrusted with leading her fellow warriors against the most dangerous enemies of the Requiem Order.

Her title, Blade of Sol, reflects her duty to carry the judgment of the Holiest beyond the walls of Dosmagal.

Wielding an immense greatsword, Pietà combines martial strength with the practice of sacramancy.

Through prayers recited upon her sacred beads and contemplation of the suffering she has sworn to relieve, she enters a state of sacred rapture. With her face raised toward the heavens, she becomes wholly absorbed in communion with Sol, her awareness of pain and fear fading as she carries his judgment into battle.

Her devotion is particularly severe when the innocent are threatened. Among the Daughters, mercy is understood as a duty toward those who suffer, and Pietà considers the destruction of their tormentors an essential part of that duty.

DAUGHTER SEVERA - THE SACRED APOTHECARY

"I have fed three generations of Requiem warriors. I have buried too many of them.”

Daughter Severa is a veteran of the Requiem Order, skilled in alchemy, healing and sacramancy.

Within Dosmagal, she prepares sacred incense, medicinal compounds and the alchemical mixtures used in the chapter’s rituals.

In battle, she invokes the power of Sol through these preparations, tending to wounded warriors and helping protect them from corruption. Her responsibilities also include the care and provisioning of Requiem orphanages.

Severa oversees the feeding, health and protection of the children sheltered there, many of whom will grow up to become warriors and servants of the Order.

She approaches their upbringing with the same discipline she applies to her alchemical work, insisting that nourishment, education and training are all necessary foundations for their future duties.

Her imposing stature and stern manner leave little room for disobedience. Those raised under her care soon learn that she is equally prepared to stir a cauldron, dress a wound or take up arms in their defense.

DAUGHTER VITTORIA - SLAYER OF DEMONS

"I was promised a demon worthy of this sword.”

Daughter Vittoria is a warrior of the Daughters of Sol, known for her confidence and her skill in hunting demons far larger than herself.

She favors a greatsword, relying on decisive strikes against exposed joints and other weaknesses to bring down creatures that cannot be confronted through strength alone.

Her most celebrated trophy is the colossal skull of a demon she helped slay during a Requiem expedition. Vittoria drove her sword through its remains to mark the victory, an image that became associated with her name among the chapter’s warriors.

Her provocative manner and disregard for modesty have earned her frequent reprimands from her superiors. Her devotion to Sol, however, has never been in question. Vittoria takes particular satisfaction in humiliating creatures that consider mortals weak, leaving their remains as evidence of what a Daughter of Sol can accomplish.

CERBERUS - WARDEN OF DOSMAGAL'S DEPTHS

"Many of our Order fell before Cerberus could be bound. Over the doorway from which it emerged, we raised the fortress of Dosmagal. The beast now guards the depths it once called home.”
- Anonymous Requiem Scholar

The location of Dosmagal was chosen for a purpose known to few outside the highest ranks of the Requiem Order. Beneath its frozen mountain, an ancient doorway had been discovered, opening into a network of caverns and labyrinths that descended deep into Mundus.

From these passages emerged demonic creatures whose kind had remained trapped within the earth following the fall of Baalzrodan. The fortress was built above this entrance to secure it and contain whatever might rise from below.

Among the creatures captured in its depths was Cerberus, an immense beast with three heads, eventually subdued and bound with consecrated chains. Through sacred bindings and rituals of sacramancy, the highest Requiem priests learned to restrain its fury and direct it against other creatures of the depths.

The consecrations laid upon its chains also alter its infernal breath, forcing it to burn with sacred flame. Cerberus now guards the labyrinths beneath Dosmagal, preventing creatures from reaching the fortress and intruders from descending into the realms below. Its service depends upon the continued strength of its bindings and the rites that sustain them. The priests entrusted with its keeping understand that the beast remains as dangerous to its captors as to the enemies they command it to destroy.
