Malakim Vindicators
“Let them come. For each step they take into our sacred realm, I will make them regret ever drawing breath.” - Anonymous Vindicator
The Malakim Vindicators are the mighty warriors of the Shattered Aetherium, ascended from mortal champions of humanity who served the Requiem Brotherhood as demon hunters, templars, and paladins.
Each Malak wears powerful, bulky relic bronze armor imbued with divine energy, relics of a bygone age.
Their wings are not physical but an ethereal manifestation, appearing at will when they take to the skies, channeling their righteous fury.
Most of these ascended champions were chosen by Sol the Holiest, residing within the Shattered Aetherium with the devoted followers of Ghaomir.
Since the fall of Ghaomir, the Vindicators have fought countless battles in their divine realm, facing demons and monstrosities that seek to breach the sanctity of the Aetherium and destroy Ghaomir’s legacy at its core.
Their existence is a testament to unyielding loyalty, a sacred shield against the corruption of the cosmos.
Aetherial Lion
“Through flame, storm, and shadow, we shall soar—where none dare follow.” - Aetherial Lion Rider
The Aetherial Lions are majestic, celestial beings born from the divine energies of the Shattered Aetherium.
In Rotvar, legends speak of rare winged lions, though no one knows if they are ascended creatures like the Malakim, or a species willed into existence by Ghaomir.
The Aetherial Lions embody both mystery and strength—guardians who roam the celestial plane, their noble roar echoing across its radiant expanses.
While the Malakim can already fly with their ethereal wings, astride the back of an Aetherial Lion they can travel further and faster, even leaping through the boundaries between planes, reaching corners of existence untouched by any other being.
These lions are not mere mounts; they are wise companions, guardians, and sometimes the first line of defense for the sacred plane.
Lady Giustizia
“The weight of your actions shall be balanced; either by the scales, or by my axe.” - Lady Giustizia
Lady Giustizia is a powerful Malak, her origins shrouded in mystery, but her devotion to justice unquestionable.
She embodies the spirit of righteous judgment, wielding a massive executioner's axe in one hand and the scales of justice in the other.
During the chaotic wars of the Second Era in Aera, Lady Giustizia stood against the forces of Tialevor, leading charges at the Tree of Life when the forces of Ghaomir clashed with those of the Tyrant-God. Her acts during the battle of Yaldain were legendary, as she struck down the corrupted Ashen Alfar while ensuring the innocent were protected.
She is said to have weighed the souls of both friend and foe alike, passing righteous judgment that none dared question. To many, she became the symbol of divine law amidst the growing chaos of the Second Era.
Mikael - Hand of Righteous Wrath
“Righteousness is not a virtue—it is a duty, wielded like a blade against the darkness.” - Mikael, Hand of Righteous Wrath
Mikael (pronounced Mee-kah-el), the Hand of Righteous Wrath, is the first and mightiest of the Malakim.
Chosen by Sol the Holiest for his unbroken faith and leadership, Mikael ascended during the Second Era amidst the epic war at the Tree of Life.
There, Ghaomir's forces fought valiantly against Tialevor, Lord of Deception, but despite their efforts, the battle was lost, and the sacred Tree of Life fell to corruption. Though they could not save Yaldain, Mikael's heroism ensured the retreat of Kromatur and the protection of the Dragonheart, a divine relic carrying the last spark of Ghaomir’s essence.
His unwavering courage saved thousands of lives and preserved hope for future resistance against Tialevor. Following the war, Mikael became the first Malak, and chose to remain in the Shattered Aetherium to protect Ghaomir’s legacy alongside Sol.
With his might reaching almost that of a Lord, Mikael's presence in Mundus would risk violating the Pact of Aeternum, for his power carries the weight of divine retribution.
Azarel - Protector of the Aetherium
“The roar of the Aetherium shall silence the cries of the unworthy.” - Azarel, Protector of the Aetherium
Azarel is no ordinary Aetherial Lion—he is the Protector of the Aetherium, twice the size of a standard celestial lion, and an embodiment of the divine.
He is said to be the first of his kind, a being born from the purest essence of Ghaomir's wisdom and Sol’s devotion.
Some whisper that Azarel is not merely a lion but an extension of Sol, perhaps even his divine cub. With a deep, resonant voice, Azarel can speak, his words carrying the weight of divine authority.
He serves as the noble mount for Mikael, enhancing his speed and power when descending against armies of demons. Together, they are an unstoppable force, embodying both righteous fury and the wisdom of ages.
Seraphina - Light of Valor (Fantasy Pinup)
“Valor is not the absence of fear—it is the light that shines despite it.” - Seraphina, Light of Valor
Seraphina, known as the Light of Valor, is a Malak whose presence inspires the armies of the Aetherium to greater heights.
With a radiant beauty matched only by her skill in battle, Seraphina is often seen at the forefront of the most dangerous conflicts, where her valor shines brightest. She wields a sword of light, striking down enemies while protecting her fellow Malakim.
Her name is whispered among the devoted as a figure of hope—a symbol of the shining purity that even the darkness of Tialevor’s tyranny cannot diminish.
Though elegant and graceful, her strength is unmatched, her resolve unbroken, and her heart devoted entirely to the defense of Ghaomir's legacy.
Sol the Holiest
“Even in the darkest night, a spark remains—a reminder of what was, and what shall be again.” - Sol the Holiest
Sol the Holiest is the devoted herald of Ghaomir, a celestial being whose loyalty and commitment to his Lord were unmatched.
During the War of the Lords, Sol fought alongside Ghaomir with unwavering conviction, wielding the radiant power of light to shield the forces of balance and justice.
When Ghaomir was struck down by the Godslayer Spear of Tialevor, it was Sol who ensured the safe passage of the last spark of Ghaomir’s essence to the Shattered Aetherium.
Unlike Kromatur, who carried the Dragonheart to the Dragonpeaks in his secret temple, Sol returned to the Shattered Aetherium, knowing that the immortal Lords, would regenerate in their respective planar realms through centuries.
Within the Aetherium, Sol took up the sacred duty of protecting Ghaomir's planar realm against all who might seek to destroy or corrupt it. Sol also became the guide for worthy mortal souls, ascending them into the ranks of the Malakim, who now serve as the vigilant protectors of Ghaomir's legacy.
Through dreams and visions, Sol continues to influence the mortal realm, inspiring the Requiem Brotherhood and other warriors of faith to resist the encroaching darkness. Though bound to the Aetherium, his presence is felt in every prayer, every ritual, and every act of devotion made in Ghaomir's name.
