High-Tide Jurakin Mirmidons

In the depths of the ocean thrive the Jurakin, the amphibious people-of-the-water. They come in different varieties, depending on where their eggs are laid, reflecting the social status of the family and determining the strength of the offspring. Clad in coral-enchanted armors, the Jurakin Mirmidons are the elite soldiers among the High-Tide Jurakin, the noble guard of King Osteras. Riding fearsome Tidal Sharks and with the favor of the Tide Witches, the seas are under their command. Soon, the surface dwellers will witness the might of the deep, as the Jurakin rise to reclaim their ancient dominance.

Tidal Sharks

Tidal Sharks are a race of powerful marine predators. They differ from normal sharks in their ability to communicate verbally with each other and the Jurakin in the Language of the Depths, a tongue shared by many marine species. Their intelligence makes them even more dangerous than ordinary sharks, and they serve as excellent mounts for the Mirmidons whose military rank is sufficiently high.

Makakuna - Tide Champion

"With the tides at my command, none shall stand against the Jurakin."
— Makakuna, Tide Champion

The towering Jurakin Makakuna is one of the most fearsome Mirmidons and the trusted royal guard of King Osteras and his descendants. A ruthless warrior against his foes, he is a respected general known for his great tactical genius. He is called the Champion of the Tide because before being recruited into the Jurakin army, he fought for many years in the Slathaai slave pits without ever being defeated, until he was discovered and freed by the Mirmidons.

Zar'kash, Master of the Lightning Eels

"The fury of the storm is mine to wield, and with it, I shall electrify our enemies."
— Zar'kash, Master of the Lightning Eels

Wrapped in a cloak of hammerhead shark skin, the tenacious Zar'kash is one of the favored Jurakin of Kurkalla, the Tide-Tyrant, a tyrannical force manipulating Osteras’s realm like a dark puppeteer. As is often the case, the tyrant's eye bestows mutations on the Jurakin he favors. Zar'kash, the beastmaster of eels, was granted two additional arms ending in fearsome, sharp claws. These appendages, along with his mastery over electric eels, allow him to wield them as living weapons, channeling devastating electric shocks into his enemies. With these abilities, Zar'kash commands the battlefield, manipulating the forces of nature with unmatched ferocity.

Tryphosa, Mother of the Sharks

"In the depths, pacts are made, and power is claimed. I am the voice of the sea's ancient might."
— Tryphosa, Mother of the Sharks

The charming nereid witch Tryphosa, known as the Mother of Sharks, is an entity often engaged in forging pacts, much like the deal-makers daemons. Tryphosa is the one who secured the alliance of the Tidal Sharks with King Osteras's Mirmidons, sealing an ancient pact. She herself is part shark, hinting at a mysterious past intertwined with them. It is unclear whether her alliance with King Osteras’s Jurakin is temporary or what lies behind her suspicious machinations.

Aegiros, the Sea Jotunn

"Though my strength could shatter the world above, I choose the path of wisdom and peace beneath the waves."
— Aegiros, the Sea Jotunn

The Sea Jotunn, also known as the tide giants, are colossal beings capable of destroying a tower with a single blow from their mighty anchors, though they rarely do so due to their wisdom and deep calm. What a Sea Jotunn is doing allied with the Jurakin of the Death-Tide is a mystery; perhaps Aegiros is bound by a pact made with the sea witch of Kurkalla, the tyrant eye of the depth. It is unclear whether the sea giants are ancestors of the Tritons or if they are Jotunn adapted to survive underwater through eons of adaptation beneath the sea, but normally, this race of Jotunn does not surface and remains hidden from mortal eyes.

Jurakin Sunken Effigies

The effigies that dot the depths of Jurakin territories are sacred monuments erected in honor of Holmuran, the Lord of the Seas. It is unclear whether they are truly dedicated to the ancient Holmuran or to the slumbering, corrupted Avatar of Holmuran, hollow husk of a once-great deity that could plunge half of Mundus into chaos if ever awakened.
